In memorium of Antonio Rato, Ramiro Leal, Fernando Feliciano & Francisca Gregorio. I send a special thought for Alexandre Leal, deceased at the age of 24 in April 5, 1997 and Maria Alice Feliciano Francisco esp. Gregorio, deceased in Caldas da Rainha (Portugal) on July 31 at the age of 63 after fighting cancer during 32 years.

In this celebration of Summer 2015, an awakenning has happened and a lot of things has changed all along this year. 

Yes music is our best to remember our death beloved but it´s also information, knowledge, beauty and love that you can share every day now with social networks sending automaticaly messages to your family and dear friends in each corner of the universe...

Prosuming Dubstep tunes. The music can be described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals." 

Dubstep's constituents originally came from "different points in the 1989—99 UK lineage: bleep 'n' bass, jungle, techstep, Photek-style neurofunk, speed garage and step." 

The traces of pre-existing styles "worked through their intrinsic sonic effects but also as signifiers, tokenings-back addressed to those who know". Dubstep's early roots are in the more experimental releases of UK garage producers, seeking to incorporate elements of drum and bass into the South London-based -step garage sound. 

These experiments often ended up on the B-side of a white label or commercial garage release. Dubstep is generally instrumental. Similar to a vocal garage hybrid – grime – the genre's feel is commonly dark; tracks frequently use a minor key and can feature dissonant harmonies such as the tritone interval within a riff. Other distinguishing features often found are the use of samples, a propulsive, sparse rhythm, and an almost omnipresent sub-bass. 

Some dubstep artists have also incorporated a variety of outside influences, from dub-influenced techno such as Basic Channel to classical music or heavy metal.

Rhythm & Wobble bass

Dubstep rhythms are usually syncopated, and often shuffled or incorporating tuplets. The tempo
is nearly always in the range of 138–142 beats per minute, with a clap or snare usually inserted every third beat in a bar. 

In its early stages, dubstep was often more percussive, with more influences from 2‑step drum patterns. A lot of producers were also experimenting with tribal drum samples, such as Loefah's early release "Truly Dread" and Mala's "Anti-War Dub". 

In an Invisible Jukebox interview with The Wire, Kode9 commented on a MRK1 track, observing that listeners "have internalized the double-time rhythm" and the "track is so empty it makes [the listener] nervous, and you almost fill in the double time yourself, physically, to compensate".

One characteristic of certain strands of dubstep is the wobble bass, often referred to as the "wub", where an extended bass note is manipulated rhythmically. This style of bass is typically produced by using a low-frequency oscillator to manipulate certain parameters of a synthesiser such as volume, distortion or filter cutoff. 

The resulting sound is a timbre that is punctuated by rhythmic variations in volume, filter cutoff, or distortion. This style of bass is a driving factor in some variations of dubstep, particularly at the more club-friendly end of the spectrum.

Who are the C2C ?

C2C (also known as Coups2Cross) was formed in 1998 in the city of Nantes (France). The collaboration group consists of 4 French DJ's: Atom and pFeL from Beat Torrent and 20Syl and Greem from Hocus Pocus. 

Members of an emerging movement called scratch music, each member of the group uses his turntable as an instrument, recreating in turn drums, bass guitars, scratching a riff of guitar or shearing the brass. 

They met during their high school years and as teens they were fascinated by the work of DJ Qbert and DJ Shadow, the founding fathers of turntablism. They set off to make a name for themselves at the turn of the millennium and soon started developing their own unique performing style.

Who are The Glitch Mob ?

The Glitch Mob, originally a five-piece including Kraddy and Kitty-D, was formed in 2006 within the burgeoning Los Angeles bass-driven 'beat' scene. The group made a name for themselves playing live, choosing to perform with laptops and MIDI controllers like the Lemur. 

They won fans through showcasing their chosen technology during solo performances, and after gaining attention in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the group eventually toured more widely along the West Coast and then to various festivals worldwide. 

After citing "creative differences," founding member Kraddy left the group in 2009. 

The Glitch Mob's first album Drink the Sea peaked at number 57 on the CMJ Top 200 Chart for College Radio. The album's debut led Electronic Musician to run a cover story on the trio.Their single "Drive It Like You Stole It" was number 2 on XLR8R's Top Downloads of 2010 list. 

The sophomore Glitch Mob album Love Death Immortality debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart. 

During their 2014 tour The Glitch Mob performed with a new musical element they called "The Blade." 

Built by movie set designers, it is a customized, painted set piece that houses both lights and instruments. 

In an interview with Sound of Boston Josh Mayer explained, "It really represents who we are and what we’re trying to say, and it’s just a functional thing that lets us play our music the way we want to play our music."

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is born on January 27, 1756 and died December 5, 1791, baptised as Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart, was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. 

Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty. At 17, he was engaged as a court musician in Salzburg, but grew restless and travelled in search of a better position, always composing abundantly. While visiting Vienna in 1781, he was dismissed from his Salzburg position. 

He chose to stay in the capital, where he achieved fame but little financial security. During his final years in Vienna, he composed many of his best-known symphonies, concertos, and operas, and portions of the Requiem, which was largely unfinished at the time of his death. 

The circumstances of his early death have been much mythologized. He was survived by his wife Constanze and two sons. He composed over 600 works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic, and choral music. He is among the most enduringly popular of classical composers, and his influence on subsequent Western art music is profound; Beethoven composed his own early works in the shadow of Mozart, and Joseph Haydn wrote that "posterity will not see such a talent again in 100 years...

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 - 1827) - Symphony No. 5, Op. 67 (1st movement)

Musicologie presents tonight Symphonie No. 5 to celebrate Ludwig van Beethoven baptised 17 December 1770 – burried 26 March 1827) was a German composer and pianist. A crucial figure in the transition between the Classical and Romantic eras in Western art music, he remains one of the most famous and influential of all composers. His best known compositions include 9 symphonies, 5 concertos for piano, 32 piano sonatas, and 16 string quartets. 

He also composed other chamber music, choral works (including the celebrated Missa Solemnis), and songs. Born in Bonn, then the capital of the Electorate of Cologne and part of the Holy Roman Empire, Beethoven displayed his musical talents at an early age and was taught by his father Johann van Beethoven and Christian Gottlob Neefe. 

During his first 22 years in Bonn, Beethoven intended to study with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and befriended Joseph Haydn. Beethoven moved to Vienna in 1792 and began studying with Haydn, quickly gaining a reputation as a virtuoso pianist. He lived in Vienna until his death. 

In about 1800 his hearing began to deteriorate, and by the last decade of his life he was almost totally deaf. He gave up conducting and performing in public but continued to compose; many of his most admired works come from this period.

Musicologie presents tonight Carl Maria Friedrich Ernst von Weber who is born in Eutin (germany) on November 18, 1786 and died in London (UK) on June 5, 1826 was a German composer, conductor, pianist, guitarist and critic, one of the first significant composers of the Romantic school.

Background and Influence 

Carl Maria von Weber's musical career, like that of Ludwig van Beethoven, came at the beginning of the Romantic era. Although it is not nearly as well-known, Weber's music, like Beethoven's, had a major influence on the course of Romantic music. The German folk opera genre that Weber established would eventually lead to the operas of Wagner; and Weber's highly ornamented, virtuoso-style piano music influenced the styles of Schumann, Liszt, and Chopin. 

Weber's operas were, of course, influenced by earlier opera, including Mozart's, but Weber also had a strong sense that he was creating a new, distinctly German, tradition. Weber's melodies often have the flavor of German folk song. And his librettos (texts) and plots were strongly influenced by Romantic-era German literature. His operas are stories of good and evil taken from local legends and fairy tales. The characters are of humble origin, and their fates are affected both by nature - a powerful element of mystery and danger - and the supernatural, both favorite subjects in Romantic literature. 

Biography 

Carl Maria von Weber was born in Eutin (near Lubeck) on November 18th, 1786. The "von" was an affectation; his family was not really aristocracy. His mother was a singer. His father, who was Kapellmeister for a prince bishop and then director of a travelling theatre company, was determined that Carl should be a musical prodigy like Mozart. So young Weber's youth was spent on tour. At age four he could not yet walk properly, because of a congenital disease of the hip, but he could already sing and play piano. He first published a composition at age eleven. 

Weber began his adult career as a concert pianist. His first opera (which has been lost) was produced in 1800 in Freiberg. Soon he was Kapellmeister at Breslau. A later job as the private secretary to Duke Ludwig at Stuttgart did not go well for Weber(it actually led to a short term in prison), but subsequent jobs included director of the Prague Opera and director of the Dresden Court Opera. He exhibited a singular drive, vision, and organized dedication when directing opera companies, but seemed to lack self-discipline in other areas of his life, living a rather Bohemian, financially insecure lifestyle in between directing jobs. 

In spite of failing health, Weber continued directing, composing and touring as a performer until his death (of consumption) on June 5th, 1826, in London, where his final opera had premiered. His body was eventually returned to Germany eighteen years later; the graveside speech was given by Richard Wagner. 

Music 

Weber's operas, with their powerful, inventive, and dramatic music, were his master works. Der Freisschuetz (1821), in particular, was tremendously popular and influential, but Euryanthe (1823), and Oberon (1826) also contained powerful music that influenced later Romantic composers. 

Weber's virtuosic piano compositions were similarly influential. He also composed songs, and two symphonies.
